October 30, 2020 in Guest Post, Rabbi Greg Harris
This is the fourth week of the month. For Reflections Off the Bimah, the fourth week features thought leaders from throughout the Jewish world and beyond. These special posts give you the opportunity to consider important opinions you may not readily encounter. For this week, I want to share a growing concern I have related to our mental health as we move into the winter months. I fear as the weather keeps us inside more and the virus remains determined, the toll on our mental health will increase. Further, we are approaching winter with our spiritual and emotional reserves already depleted by 7 months of pandemic. Throughout the congregation, we will be offering different programs and resources for all aged people. For students and parents in the Preschool to senior citizens living alone, we are all facing these difficult times together. This simple article may help us acknowledge some of the mental health challenges ahead. While titled about kids, the content is helpful for all of us.
