Help shape future clergy! Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) rabbinical students often visit with communities to gain practical experience and to allow us to hear new perspectives. We are thrilled to welcome third-year JTS student Iliana Brodsky on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7. She will offer a teaching Friday night at Shir Yachad, give the sermon on Shabbat morning, and stay for a “Life in the Seminary” Q&A on Saturday at 12:30 pm after kiddush.
Iliana Brodsky is currently serving as a JTS Student Ambassador and as a Rabbinic Mentor for the seminary’s new teen program, The Emerging Leaders Fellowship. Iliana recently spent the High Holidays with Congregation Shearith Israel in Dallas Texas, crafting and leading family services as well as collaborating with the clergy team to meet the communities programmatic and ritual needs throughout the season. At JTS, Iliana has taken a particular liking to Talmud study and talking about the future of Conservative Judaism. Iliana is extremely driven by issues of access and equity in the Jewish world, and is dedicated to creating more vibrant communities for all through her rabbinate. Ever enamored by her hometown of Brooklyn, New York, you can often find Iliana checking out local markets or on a long stroll in Prospect Park.
