A monthly gathering for women to connect through learning and discussion. This year we’ll focus on life-cycle events, looking at Jewish laws and practices, and the issues and challenges life-cycle events raise. Guest teachers from our congregation will guide us during each session. Come whenever you can to converse and grow together.
This month, we focus on b-mitzvah. Rabbi Avis Miller will join us as we look at the changes in Jewish girls’ and women’s education and participation since the creation of the bat mitzvah 100 years ago. Being counted in the minyan, reading Torah, leading services, becoming rabbis – we’ve come a long way!
Later sessions will explore Weddings and Marriage (Tuesday, February 11), Divorce and Family Transitions (Wednesday, March 12), Death and Mourning (Thursday, April 3), and Wrap-Up (Tuesday, May 13).
